Let’s get making!

Over the Easter break we are asking children to make an Easter/ Spring bonnet in order for them to bring in their creations to show their friends on Friday 26th April. It is up to you as to what is included on your bonnet. The main thing is that you have fun and enjoy being creative!

Thank you,

Mrs Regan.

World Book Day with Little Gems

World Book Day with Little Gems

Our Little Gems had great fun yesterday on Wolrd Book Day.

They had great fun sharing their favourite stories and showing each other their wonderful costumes.

The story we have been learning about is “Giraffes Can’t Dance” by Giles Andrea.

The children have really enjoyed turning our classroom into a jungle and learning jungle dances!

Show and Tell!

Show and Tell on 14/02/19 and 27/02/19 will be linked to our learning on rhyme.

The children are to bring in 2 items that rhyme from home e.g. ‘cat/ mat’ etc. Give children a choice of 3 items, reminding them that it sounds the same at the end of the word and see if they can find the rhyming partners e.g. dog/ frog/ table etc.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing lots of rhyming!

On Friday 8th February, Reception and Nursery will be celebrating Chinese New Year. As part of the celebration the children will be allowed to wear red clothes for the day.

The children will be parading in the playground and around the school to show off our lanterns, musical instruments and other creations the children have made.

Just a reminder that linked to our learning of celebrating successful women we have chosen to look at Julia Donaldson books. Children are to bring in either their favourite Julia Donaldson book (or another woman author if you do not have a favourite Julia Donaldson book) or a character from one of her stories and be ready to share with their group. Children to think about; what happens in the story? What is your favourite part? Who is your favourite character, why? Can you describe what your character looks like?
Looking forward to hearing and seeing your favourite book or character!
